Deutsch: Inschrift über der Haussteinkapelle in Sankt Nikola an der Donau im Bezirk Perg in Oberösterreich. Text: Kaiser Franz Josef befreite die Schifffahrt von den Gefahren im Donau-Wirbel durch Sprengung der Haustein-Felseninsel 1855-1866. Die in die Steintafel oberhalb der Kapelle eingemeißelte Inschrift berichtet davon. Das Eisenkreuz stammt von der Haussteininsel.
Überlieferung dazu: Am Morgen des 20. September 1858 betrat Kaiser Franz Josef von Österreich, begleitet von seiner Gemahlin Sisi und dem Hofstaat, zum ersten Mal seine neue Donaujacht "Adler". Der Wasserstand hatte sich etwas gehoben, das Wetter war schön und der Kaiser guter Laune, er nahm sein Schiff in Augenschein, ließ sich alle Details erklären und zeigte großes Interesse für den Schiffsdienst. Bis Grein verlief die Fahrt ohne Zwischenfälle. Nach der Passage der Strudenstrecke, am Hausstein, hatte das Schiff Grundberührung und erhielt einen kräftigen Stoß. Bei einer näheren Untersuchung stellte man fest, dass das Schiff im hinteren Teil stark Wasser nahm und so entschloss man sich, das Schiff gegenüber von St. Nikola, beim "Seiler im Sand", auf der auch heute noch vorhandenen Sandbank auf Grund zu setzen. Der Unfall mag die Veranlassung gewesen sein, dass noch im selben Jahr die Regulierungsarbeiten im Strudel und Wirbel rascher vorangetrieben wurden.
