Description |
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.; In World War II the waterworks of Batavia have been heavily damaged. In peoples homes the taps produce no water and the pools are empty. An Indonesian woman taps water from a rain drain to do her washings. A tank lorry with drinking water drives through the streets; people come up to it to receive their, limited, portion. Black marketeers see their chances, tap water illegally and sell it black to the homes. A tropical shower gives temporary solace: water is collected in tubs and bucket etc. Children play with and in the water. |
