Description
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented. The museum "Het Mauritshuis" in The Hague has a put a new central heating system into use. SHOTS: - Ext. Mauritshuis; - int. museum with a demonstration of the heating the old way: a keeper dressed in an overall goes round the halls; he carries a yoke on his shoulders; at the two ends of the yoke are braziers on chains; the keeper walks by all the present empty stoves and places the braziers; - demonstration of heating in the new way: the messenger dressed in a smart uniform walks to the two large boilers in the basement and checks the fire; - tubes and pipes of the heating system run along the walls of the basement, but in the exhibition halls they are stuck behind the benches and panelling; - several details of different paintings, a.o. by hans Holbein, Rogier van der Weyden, Peter Paul Rubens, Jan Steen, Paulus Potter and Meindert Hobbema.
Nederlands: Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd. Het museum "Het Mauritshuis" in Den Haag heeft een centrale verwarmingsinstallatie in gebruik genomen. SHOTS: - Ext. Mauritshuis; - int. museum met een demonstratie van de verwarming oude stijl: een bode/suppoost gaat, gekleed in overall, de zalen langs; op de schouders draagt hij een draagjuk; aan de twee uiteinden van het draagjuk hangen aan kettingen vuurpotten; de bode loopt in alle zalen de aanwezige lege kachels langs en plaatst de vuurpotten; - demonstratie verwarming nieuwe stijl: de in een keurig uniform gestoken bode/suppoost loopt naar een van de twee grote verwarmingsketels in de kelder en controleert het vuur; - buizen en pijpen van de verwarmingsinstallatie lopen in de kelder langs de wand maar zijn in de publieksruimtes onzichtbaar weggewerkt in de banken en de lambrizering; - div. details van div. schilderijen, oa van Hans Holbein, Rogier van der Weyden, Peter Paul Rubens, Jan Steen, Paulus Potter en Meindert Hobbema.
