Description

remains of the building that housed the Newcomen steam engine at landgoed groenedaal (geo tag) thomas Newcomen lived from 1663 to 1729, this was instaled by Rinse Lieve Brouwer in 1781. the estate was owned by the banker from amsterdam Jan Hope and used to irigate the garden. it was scrapped in about 1840. this was the 2nd steam engine ever build in the netherlands

( I am the photographer who made this photo and have good reason to think this might not be the newcomen steam engine building but some other unknown to me building on landgoed groenendaal so original copied text shown just above could be wrong)
