Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Newburgh Assembly Rooms, St Margaret's Place. Head east out of Russell Place then south down Cannon Place. On the western side is a small cul de sac, where the former Newburgh assembly room building stands. Another building by Amon Henry Wilds, it was erected in 1833 as a social centre. Over the years it has had a number of different uses; the congregation of the Eglise Protestante Francais met here from 1860 until their own church was constructed. It was then converted into flats before being taken over by the Metropole Hotel which lies to the south of this building. It is now an entrance to the Metropole Exhibition Rooms and the building itself is now just a shell. Click on the link to take you to the next page. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/211940
