The sixth floor which is the operating floorin the present building will have more rooms for the head nurses in thenew addition. The seventh has been rearranged to contain all of the chil-drens wards. The eighth floor has rooms for the pupil nurses. Theninth and tenth floors have been given over to the nursery maids. Theywill be placed in dormitories. The ninth floor will have accommodationsfor 21 girls and a room for the person in charge of them. These dormitories will beseparated by a wall, so that one can be used during the day as sleepingquarters for those girls who are for the time being on night duty. Thealcoves will be separated by strong enamelled partitions starting onefoot from the floor and extending about seven feet in height. Each willbe large enough to contain a bed, a bureau and a wardrobe and will beshut off from the corridors by draw curtains. This plan saves us muchspace and also makes for ease in cleaning. It is also of great aid inmaintaining good discipline. 25 The plans submitted and this brief description of them will show hownecessary the addition is to our well-being.
