Description
Nederlands: Gedeeltelijk Frans- en Nederlandstalige Kadasterkaart uit 1812-1819 van het meest westelijke deel van de Groote Drooggemaakte Polder en het noordelijkste deel van de Driemanspolder bij Stompwijk (Z.-Holland). Dit deel van de Driemanspolder heet ook wel Potteveen, doch deze naam wordt op de kaart niet gebruikt. Grens tussen beide polders is de Molenvaart: "Canal dite Molevaart". Zichtbaar zijn de twee molendriegangen voor de bemaling van de Driemanspolder. De linker (westelijke) molengang werd in 1877 afgebroken en vervangen door een stoomgemaal. De rechter (oostelijke) molengang staat nog steeds langs de Molenvaart en is een landschapsbepalend Rijksmonument. Rechtsboven is een deel van de lintbebouwing van Stompwijk zichtbaar; rechtsonder van het gehucht Wilsveen. De tekst op de kaart luidt: (linksonder): (Doorgestreept: SUBDIVISION de SECTION D dite DRIEMANSPOLDER de la Commune de LEIDSCHENDAM) Commencé le 20 Juin et achevé le 26 Juillet 1812. Levé par le sousigné Géomêtre Secondaire H. Visscher. (Tekst links boven:) Gemeente Stompwijk Sectie D genaamd Driemans Polder. Derde Blad. van N° 127 tot 582 Opgemeten in den Jare 1812 door den Landmeter der Tweede Klasse H. Visscher. Herzien en Gecompleteerd in den Jare 1819 door mij, Landmeter der Eerste Klasse van het Kadaster W.J. van Campen. Gecarteerd naar de Schaal van 1 à 2500 Ellen.
English: Cadastral map from 1812-1819 with annotations in Dutch and French showing the westernmost part of the Great Reclaimed Polder (Groote Drooggemaakte Polder) and the northernmost part of the Driemanspolder at Stompwijk (Province South Holland, Netherlands). This part of the Driemanspolder is called Potteveen, but this name is not used on the map. The boundary between both polders is the Molenvaart: in French: "Canal dite Molevaart". Visible are the two drainage systems of three windmills each, used to drain the Driemanspolder. The left (western) windmill chain was demolished in 1877 and replaced by a pumping station with a steam engine. The right (eastern) windmill chain still stands. These three windmills are listed buildings and form a much appreciated element of the landscape here. In the lower right hand corner a part of the hamlet Wilsveen is visible.
