Description
This is a rare watercolor by Narcisse Diaz, who worked primarily in oil. The view is likely from the forest of Fontainebleau, near the village of Barbizon. In the 1830s, Diaz and other painters like Jean-François Millet frequently painted there, out of doors, directly from nature.
