藤原定家(1162-1241)の撰と伝える秀歌撰『百人一首』を三条西実枝(1511-79)が講釈した際の中院通勝(1556-1610)による聞書。巻尾に「文禄第五丙申閏七廿二記之、也足叟(花押・印)四十一才」とあり、文禄5年(1596)の筆録と知られる。掲出本は、巻尾に記された奥書及び印記、特徴的な筆跡により通勝自筆と考えられる。通勝は同じ時期に『百人一首』の注釈を書写、収集しており、同年の奥書を記す京都大学附属図書館蔵『小倉抄』、日本女子大学蔵『百人一首抄』2本、慶長2年(1597)の奥書を記す京都大学附属図書館蔵『百人一首抄』などの通勝筆本が伝わっている。(海野圭介)(2018.11)
