Description
English: Museumkelder Derlon, Maastricht, the Netherlands. Fragment (left hand) of the 2 meter tall statue of Jupiter that once stood on a Jupiter column that formed the centre piece of the Roman shrine near the Meuse bridge and the Roman highway from Bavay to Cologne. The entire column was almost 10 meter high and towered above the enclosing walls of the shrine.
