The thinner male, identifiable by the genital clasper at the end of the abdomen, approaches the female while wing-flapping (Table 1, behaviour 9), who also performs wing-flapping while stationary (behaviour 2).The male makes contact with the female through touching with the legs or antennae (behaviour 3) several times prior to copulation. |
