| Description |
English: Mud and Sand, Freiston Shore One of many channels which run through this area. The plants here survive immersion in sea water when the tide is in. Edible samphire grows in abundance - I'm not sure whether the plant shown here is samphire. The sea bank can be seen right at the top of the shot. A slightly hairy experience getting this photo, involving giving my shoes and trousers a very lovely mud bath, and then an acute awareness of the rapidly encroaching tide. |
