| Description |
English: Mire Loch, St. Abbs Head Meltwater following the last ice-age scoured a line of weakness along the St. Abb's Head fault creating a valley immediately behind the coastal cliffs. Around 1900 this was dammed to create the Mire Loch. This area supports a great diversity of plants, wildlife and birds and is a total contrast to the cliffs so near. View is from the spillway on the dam with the boat house on the far bank. |
