Description
English: Michèle Taylor is a community volunteer, human rights champion, political strategist,

and educator. Community Volunteer and Human Rights Champion Michèle currently serves on the boards of the following organizations: • National Center for Civil and Human Rights where she is the Development Committee Chair and a select member of the Strategic Advancement and Nominating committees. Michèle helped to lead the search for the current Executive Director. • Atlanta Jewish Film Society where she is the Governance Chair and Co-Chair of Guest Programming • Midtown [Atlanta] Improvement District CID, to which she was appointed by both Mayors Reed and Bottoms and where she was elected Treasurer In 2014, operating under an MOU with the White House, Michèle helped to generate the report on the 20th Anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act through the Office of the Vice President. Past board service includes: • North Carolina Outward Bound School, where she was Governance Chair and Vice Chair as well as representative to the national Outward Bound organization • United States Holocaust Memorial Council as appointed by President Obama, where she served on the Committee on Conscience, addressing genocide and atrocity prevention, and remains a member of the Committee on State Sponsored Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial • Leadership on the boards of the Georgia Network to End Sexual Assault, the Anti Defamation League, and Ahavath Achim Synagogue Michèle helped to create and served as a founding member of the boards of Congregation Or Hadash and the Outward Bound Center for Peacebuilding. Political Strategist Michèle has worked on political campaigns for over 30 years. Before launching Unite the Country, the pro-Biden Independent Expenditure where she served as Vice Chair, Michèle was an inaugural member of the national finance operation for the Biden Campaign. She is a founding member of the [Senator Tim] Kaine Leadership Council, and was just tapped by Atlanta’s Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms to chair Battleground Georgia, an effort to engage 100,000 voters in the Senate runoffs who did not vote on November third. Michèle is co-founder and co-chair of the Atlanta chapter of the Electing Women Alliance. Most recently, she has also served as: • Senior Advisor to Congressman Tom Malinowski’s campaign in NJ • Vice Chair of the National Finance Committee for the Democratic National Committee • Advisor to Jason Kander’s US Senate campaign • Vice Chair and Finance Chair of Michelle Nunn’s US Senate campaign • Chair of Lindy Miller’s statewide Georgia Public Service Commission campaign • Senior Advisor to Jason Carter’s Georgia Governor campaign

Michèle Taylor ztaylors@mindsring.com - 404.862.2048 Educator Michèle works as a Course Director and Lead Instructor for the North Carolina Outward Bound School. She has served as a rock climbing specialist for the school and is trained as a First Responder in wilderness settings. In her roles serving students/clients that include youth, business executives and veterans, she • Facilitates experiential learning and leadership development in a wilderness setting • Is an expert in conflict resolution • Teaches performance evaluation • Creates and implements diversity curricula • Manages, trains, and mentors staff • Designs and supports numerous simultaneous courses • Serves as part of and stands at the ready to lead a trained search and rescue team, including high angle rescue Michèle holds a graduate degree in theoretic mathematics from Boston University, in the field of Complex Dynamical Systems. She has • Helped to found a STEM program for high school girls as a joint project between Mills College and the University of California at Berkeley • Contributed to a college calculus textbook • Served as part of a team to create national standards for high school math tutoring

Michèle graduated from Mills College, choosing to attend a women’s college, with a B.A. in Liberal Arts with honors. She majored in Psychology and Mathematics - having taken upper level math courses at the University of California at Berkeley - and completed a minor in Computer Science. She was selected as a California state finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship, the first in Mills College’s history. She then went on to obtain her graduate degree in Theoretical Mathematics. Michèle is an alumna of Leadership Atlanta. She lives in Midtown Atlanta with her husband and has two grown children.
