[edit]DescriptionMesserschmitt Me-262 At Hahnweide Air Show 2011.ogv |
Die hier gezeigte Maschine trägt die Registrierung D-IMTT und ist in Besitz der "Messerschmitt Stiftung".English: The Me-262 represents a milestone in aviation history, as it was the world's first production jet aircraft and I had never expected to see one flying in my lifetime, because after World War II they were all destroyed or taken away from Germany to study their back then very advanced technology.
Today, no Me-262 has been restored to an airworthy condition worldwide! Surprised? I mean I promised to bring you a video of a flying Me-262! ;) The explanation is: What you see in this video is actually a Me-262 replica, built in the USA in 2004/2005 and powered by a pair of modern General Electric J85s, but to me that's the next best thing to seeing an original Me-262 fly! The aircraft shown here is registered as D-IMTT and is owned by "Messerschmitt Stiftung" (translates as "Messerschmitt foundation"). |
