English: Japanese traditional meshi. A red umeboshi (dried ume) is on top of white rice. This is also called "Hinomaru rice." It symbolizes the "circle of the sun" of the flag of Japan. An example of Japanese cuisine. The chopsticks are placed horizontally when viewed from the front, and the tip of the chopsticks is usually facing left.
