An intriguing memorial in the south choir aisle of Salisbury Cathedral to Maria Barnston.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A curious memorial to Maria Barnston.
The Latin epitaph reads:
'A loving, lamenting, disconsolate husband erected this monument to the memory of Maria Barnston, who died 6th of July,1625. Her other part died 30th of May,1645: He is not dead but sleepeth, and will return again."
What is her other half? a twin who died at birth?
