English: Mappleton sands and groynes, Mappleton, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The southern groyne is seen clearly here, with the end of the northern one just visible at the edge of the picture. The groynes were built in 1991 to halt or limit the erosion of the beach and cliffs which was threatening the village of Mappleton. |
