A well-groomed appearance is important to the Tuaregs.

English: Tuaregs always carry fresh clothes in their luggage. Although water is used sparingly, they wash at least once a day. When the Tuaregs approach a nomad camp or a nomad settlement, most of them stop to rearrange their clothes and rewrap their sheshes. When they talk to women, they pull their shesh over their mouths and speak more quietly and reservedly than usual. The women also lower their voices.

Im Reisegepäck sind immer frische Kleidungsstücke dabei. Obwohl mit dem Wasser haushälterisch umgegangen wird, waschen sie sich mindestens einmal täglich. Nähern sich Tuareg einem Nomadenlager oder einer Nomadensiedlung, so halten die meisten von ihnen an, ordnen ihre Kleider und wickeln den Schesch neu. Wenn sie mit Frauen sprechen, ziehen sie ihren Schesch über den Mund und sprechen leiser, verhaltener als sonst. Auch die Frauen senken ihre Stimme.

Ils emportent toujours des vêtements propres dans leurs bagages. Bien que l'eau soit utilisée avec parcimonie, ils se lavent au moins une fois par jour. Lorsque les Touaregs s'approchent d'un camp ou d'un campement de nomades, la plupart d'entre eux s'arrêtent, arrangent leurs vêtements et changent leur chèche. Lorsqu'ils parlent aux femmes, ils mettent leur chèche sur leur bouche et parlent plus doucement, de manière plus retenue que d'habitude. Les femmes baissent également la voix. |
