Description
English: Architectural sculpture in the lapidarium ("stone collection") in the East Crypt of the Basilica of Saint Servatius in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Here a cushion capital from the late 11th century, found in the rubble of the demolished Crossing Crypt (west of the East Crypt). The architect Pierre Cuypers used this in 1881 as a model for one of the Romanesque Revival capitals in the reconstructed crypt.
