Description
Nederlands: 13e-eeuw reliekschrijntje in de Schatkamer van de Onze-Lieve-Vrouwebasiliek in Maastricht. Het bestaat uit een groot stuk bergkristal gevat in een verguld koperen raamwerk met twee beeldjes van de apostelen Petrus en Paulus. Afmetingen: 14,5 x 14,2-15 x 15,3 cm. Mogelijk bevatte het schrijn oorspronkelijk relieken van Sint-Gilles. In 1930 bevatte het volgens kapelaan Welters een flesje met olie uit het graf Sint-Nicolaas. Tegenwoordig bevat het een reliek van Sint-Servaas.
English: 13th-century reliquary in the Treasury of the Basilica of Our Lady in Maastricht, Netherlands. The reliquary consists of a large crystal in gilded copper furnishings with two statuettes of Saint Peter and Paul. Dimensions: 14.5 x 14.2-15 x 15.3 cm. It contains relics of Saint Servatius, which may have replaced at one point relics of Saint Giles.
