Deutsch: Eine Möwe fliegt gut eine Minute lang (originale Filmzeit vor dem Zuschnitt) in gleichem Abstand zum Heck eines Ausflugsschiffes von 10,5 Knoten Geschwindigkeit (Aussage des Kapitäns). Dabei verliert die Möwe keine Höhe. Die wenigen schwachen Flügelschläge scheinen eher der Steuerung als dem Auftrieb zu dienen.
Die Aufnahme entstandem auf der MS Jens Albrecht mit Heimathafen Horumersiel. Das Schiff befand sich zwischen den Inseln Mellum und Minsener Oog, etwas östlich der größeren Nordseeinsel Wangerooge. Unter anderem Otto Lilienthal (1849 bis 1896) untersuchte solche Phänomene wissenschaftlich und entwickelte mit dem gewonnen Erkenntnissen die ersten erfolgreichen Gleitfluggeräte für Menschen. Offen bleibt hier die Frage, woher der Vogel den Auftrieb bezieht. Produziert das Schiff Heckwinde oder günstige Wirbel? English: A seagull is following a small vessel without seriously flapping with its wings and without any loss of height. The vessel was cruising at a speed of about 10,5 knots near the Frisian island of Wangerooge. Another video shows a kestrel performing the art of wind hovering.
It was such phenomena that inspired and guided the pioneering works of Otto Lilienthal (1848 to 1896). |
