Description
English: Lothian Buses bus 285 (reg. P285 PSX), a Volvo Olympian double-decker with Alexander Royale bodywork, wearing Madder and White livery. Delivered in July 1997, 285 was the last step-entrance bus to be delivered to the company, and the last to be delivered wearing the traditional Madder and White colours. All new deliveries after 285 were low-floor buses, marked by a new livery called Harlequin, comprising a white base with red and gold squares. After retiring from front-line service in the summer of 2009, 285 was retained by Lothian as a semi-preserved vehicle, for special events. Before retiring, it was fully refurbished, repanelled, and returned to the original interior of red vinyl seat trim. It is pictured in summer 2010 at Eastfield, Edinburgh terminus, on an enthusiast's tour.
