Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Pretty tame by propaganda standards, this short cartoon is basically Mel Blanc giving a humourless monologue over stale gags. It reminds you where your meat comes from by using 'this animal is going to die' punchlines.

It does not have much to do with blackouts despite the title; this wartime cartoon tries to teach the importance of not having visible lights at night to hide from attacking Axis planes, but doesn't really do that very well. Perhaps the lesson was already well hammered into audiences and this is an attempt to mock the concept.

It all ends in an American flag and some World War One veteran carrier pigeons showing that their patriotism allows them to make more pidgeon offspring for war service despite their age.

Not actually terrible, but its bad jokes and lack of coherent narrative make it a boring watch. At least its not racist this time so kudos to wartime Warner Bros. for that.
