English: Time-lapse changes of triangles connected neighboring nuclei at the first time point. Mesodermal cells are divided into two regions, lateral (cyan) and distal (magenta). The embryo consists of two surfaces: the outer visceral endoderm (blue) and a boundary surface between the visceral endoderm and mesoderm (green). Red semi-cylindrical shapes show the primitive streak, indicating posterior side. Red, blue, and green arrows indicate the posterior–anterior axis, left–right axis, and proximal–distal axis, respectively. As time goes by, the triangles become large and overlap each other, indicating that each cell migrates individually. |
