English: Limestone and gritstone. The flanks of Wharfedale are dominated by limestones, but as one climbs higher, the Yoredale series of limestones, shales and sandstones are reached. In this photo a line of limestone crags on the 460m contour is backed by a line of gritstone crags on the 510m contour. |
