Letter from First Lieutenant Charles J. Adams of Selma, Alabama, U. S. Army Infantry Reserve, to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. (English)
Letter from First Lieutenant Charles J. Adams of Selma, Alabama, U. S. Army Infantry Reserve, to President Roosevelt in which writer identifies himself as a former student of Benjamin Davis and congratulates Roosevelt on his "usual spirit of fairmindedness in giving credit to whom ... it is meritoriously due," by promoting Davis. While regarding the promotion as made stictly on merit, writer nevertheless expresses hope that "it will be the means of a million Negro votes ... on general election day Nov 5th." (English)
