Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Front facade of the Lee-Mansfield House, a two-story wood structure in a Victorian Eclectic style at 344 Flume Street in the old eastern section of Chico. The property was bought in 1890 by Wesley C. Lee (1824–1896), founder of Lee's Pharmacy, dating back to the year 1857, when Lee started his business in a tent structure on the banks of Butte Creek. In addition to starting the Pharmacy, Lee was appointed as the first Postmaster of Chico by President Ulysses Grant in 1869, but held the position for only one year. In 1899, the house was sold to the Mansfield family which owned it until 1971.
