Description
Français : Le Christ en croix entre la Vierge et Saint Jean. A droite de la croix se tient la Vierge et à gauche saint Jean, la mère et le disciple préféré que le Christ, en mourant, avait confiés l'un à l'autre (Jean 19, 26), devant un décor de collines vertes et de chemins serpentant vers Jérusalem. Miniature extraite du Livre d'heures de la Famille Des Fours. Notes : Contrairement à un office de la Vierge, les autres offices, beaucoup plus brefs, ne bénéficient que d'une illustration en tête de Matines. Ainsi pour les Heures de la Croix, l'image fréquemment rencontrée est celle du Christ en croix. Le manuscrit des Fours ne déroge pas à cette règle !
