Deutsch: Mitglieder der „Latschari-Clique Rheinfelden e.V.“ aus Rheinfelden (Baden), beim Narrentreffen der „Vereinigung Hochrheinischer Narrenzünfte e.V.“ 2010 in Schwörstadt. Die 1937 vom einheimischen Künstler Arnold Schneider auf Anregung des damaligen, seit der NS-Machtübernahme amtierenden, Bürgermeisters Leopold Bösch entworfene Figur bezieht sich auf die arbeitslosen „Rumhänger“, von denen es während der Weltwirtschaftskrise ab Ende der 1920er Jahre in der noch sehr jungen Industriestadt viele gab. Das erst 1922 zur Stadt erhobene badische Rheinfelden hatte als solche keine gewachsene Fasnachtstradition, daher versuchte man gezielt, eine neue, zur Industriestadt passende Symbolfigur zu schaffen. Die Maske mit einer lachenden und einer weinenden Gesichtshälfte sowie (vom Aufenthalt im Freien oder vom Alkoholkonsum?) geröteten Wangen und Nase ist ein Symbol für die ambivalente Situation, in der sich die von Arbeitslosigkeit Betroffenen befanden: nicht arbeiten müssen einerseits, nicht den eigenen Lebensunterhalt verdienen können andererseits (Quelle: Wir über uns, Website der Latschari-Clique Rheinfelden)
Anmerkungen: Der Umstand, dass in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus bis zum Kriegsbeginn die Fasnachtsaktivitäten geradezu einen Aufschwung nahmen, ist nicht auf Rheinfelden oder die Region begrenzt (vgl. z.B.: Carl Dietmar, Marcus Leifeld: Alaaf und Heil Hitler: Karneval im Dritten Reich.
