Summary

English: It is an original 35 mm film taken in September 1969. This is the scene of the South Korean Blue Dragon Division and the U.S. Marine Corps preparing to land on Barrier Island in Operation Seungryong 15 (Operation Defiant Stand). At that time, the operation was of great historical significance as it was the first joint landing of the ROK-US Marine Corps since the Incheon Landing Operation in 1950. It clearly shows the complicated atmosphere of soldiers who are nervous ahead of the landing operation but are struggling to smile at the camera.
한국어: 1969년 9월에 촬영된 35mm 영화필름으로 원본이다. 승룡15호 작전(미국측 명칭 Operation Defiant Stand)에서 배리어 섬(Barrier Island) 상륙작전을 준비하는 한국군 청룡부대와 미 해병대의 장면이다. 당시 작전은 국군 해병대가 1950년 인천상륙작전 이후 최초로 실시하는 한·미 해병 합동 강습상륙으로서 역사적인 의미가 컸다. 상륙을 앞두고 긴장되지만 카메라를 향해 애써 웃어 보이는 장병들의 복잡한 분위기가 선명하게 담겨 있다. |
