Deutsch: Nachdem sich das Bildthema des liegenden weiblichen Aktes in Italien etabliert hatte, setzte sich im 16. Jh auch vermehrt die Künstler nördlich der Alpen mit dem erotisch konnotiertes Sujet auseinander. Vor allem der Niederländische Maler Sustris, der sich die meiste Zeit über in Italien aufhielt, verinnerlichte die Malerei Tizians. Die Amsterdamer Venus, die mehr als zehn Jahre nach der Venus von Urbino entstand, galt aufgrund der kompositionellen Ähnlichkeit sogar als eigenhändiges Werk Tizians. Sustris begnügte sich jedoch nicht damit, lediglich eine Kopie von Tizians berühmtem Vorbild anzufertigen, sondern variierte insbesondere die Gestaltung des Hintergrundes. So zitierte er nicht nur Tizians Motiv der beiden Mägde, die sich über eine große Truhe beugen, sondern fügte die Chembalospielerin und den Knaben sowie das Liebespaar am Fenster hinzu.".
