| Description |
English: Lake Road, Doom City, Hawkhills, Easingwold, Yorkshire In the days when Hawkhills Estate was a Civil Defence College a mock village was erected on this site to allow the Military and Fire Service to practice search and rescue missions and test anti-gas equipment. Later nuclear shelters were erected for demonstartion purposes. Lake Road was a village street which contacined mock houses and an underground air-raid shelter. |
