Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Ahead of their first-ever South African tour in 2000, Live lead singer/ songwriter Ed Kowalczyk got on the phone to me to talk through the band’s fourth and most commercially successful album, The Distance to Here.

I asked him about discovering new audiences and what it was about this record that made it truly rock! Lyrical launchpads, sensual depth and evolution, Live remains a band that has earned their success due to a genuine commitment to delivering on a relationship with their fans that they profoundly respect.

Re-establishing rock is what Live intended in their delivery of The Distance to Here, and Ed unpacks and lays bare his real-life lyrical journey here, all of which he willingly shares.

They’ve always written songs that catapult the lyric, recorded live, sans tracking, to have it land the message and celebrate the evolution of the band.

Guitars, drums, bass and chemistry – their recipe, Ed’s vocal energy is something that unsettles and effects a genuine reaction, no matter where you’re from, what you believe, or don’t. Nothing matters more, at the moment than facing raw emotion head-on!

Was this their finest hour… not likely with their perpetual abundance of passion, energy and wicked song-writing?
