Description
Nederlands: In Oost-Duitsland hadden kinderen vroeger minder vaak allergieën dan kinderen in West-Duitsland. Na de val van de muur verbeterden de leefomstandigheden van Oost-Duitse kinderen en kregen zij ook vaker allergieën. Merkwaardig hè? Immunoloog Huub Savelkoul (WUR) legt je in dit college uit wat de hygiënehypothese is en of we misschien beter wat viezer kunnen leven!

Een grote passie voor onderwijs, dat typeert prof. dr. Huub Savelkoul, die niet voor niets Docent van het Jaar (WUR) werd in 2014. Zijn vakgebied is Celbiologie en Immunologie, wat betekent dat hij gefascineerd is door ons buitengewoon vernuftige immuunsysteem. Soms laat je immuunsysteem een steekje vallen en word je ziek. Wat kunnen we daartegen doen?
