Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Activists in Slovenia opened the abandoned, churched controlled, property of the former cinema 'Kino Triglav'. They reappropriated the space as part of a continuing struggle of right to the commons (where housing is defined as a basic social right), and resistance to crisis politics. During the occupation a movie was shown and an assembly held. Despite attempts by the police to intervene, the occupiers held the space until a common decision was made to leave. --- Demonstration in Ljubljana on Saturday, April 27th, 2013. The demonstration is being organized by the All Slovenian Uprising, whose supporters have staged rallies around the country calling for Slovenia’s “political elites” to step down. April 27th holds symbolic meaning (the formation of the liberation front during WWII) and many protesters of the event were wearing Ex-Yugoslav symbols. Around 2000 people attended the event.
