Summary
[edit]DescriptionFawdon Metro station, Tyne and Wear - geograph.org.uk - 1594577.jpg |
English: Fawdon station on the Tyne and Wear Metro. The view east along Platform 1, as two Brush Electrical Machines 0-6-0 diesel electric shunters (No. WL3 leading) top and tail a 3 wagon engineer's train heading west on the opposite track. WL3 (Works Locomotive No. 3) was built in 1978 for the Metro. It was later sold for use on the Channel Tunnel project, and then again in 1996 to the steel firm Round Oak Rail of Dudley, before a fire saw it pass into preservation in 2005 with Peak Rail. |
