Nederlands: Ruim 100.000 tienermeisjes in India zijn slachtoffer van moderne slavernij. Ze werken onder de zogenaamde Sumangali scheme waarbij ze in 3 jaar sparen voor hun bruidsschat.
De jonge meisjes (12-18) werken minstens 60 uur per week om te produceren voor onze kledingwinkels. Ze zijn vaak slachtoffer van (seksuele) intimidatie en verdienen zelfs niet het minimum loon. De meeste meiden krijgen na afloop van de scheme maar een deel van hun verdiende loon uitbetaald. Mondiaal FNV helpt de lokale arbeidersorganisatie bij hun strijd tegen de moderne slavernij in de Indiase kledingindustrie.
