English: Kilkeel harbour. In this photograph Kilkeel might look like a busy fishery harbour but the tonnage landed in 2005 was not much more than half that in 1998. There is no longer the continuity of work to encourage school leavers to become fishermen. The boats are still locally owned but the crews are often from eastern Europe. The death of another traditional industry. |
