Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Kettles hill fort. The Iron Age hill fort (alternatively called Maiden Castle or Greenside) occupies a ridge protected on three sides by steep slopes. The hill fort is divided into two sections by triple ramparts. The steep natural slopes have been topped by a single rampart of earth and stone. At the south-east end of the site is an additional rampart and a narrow opening which led down to the seat-like rock called the King's Chair and to a spring below called the Kettle (also called the Cattle [or Pin Well]) 1729728 http://ads.ahds.ac.uk/catalogue/collections/nsmr03abstracts/1546.html
