Summary

Description	Deutsch: Der Kanzelaltar in der Groß Weller Dorfkirche mit der Sakramentsnische, links. Inmitten des Altars steht der Pfarrer. Seine Füße schweben über dem Altar. Der Himmel ist offen über ihm. Der Pfarrer wird zum evangelischen „Priester“, der Gottesdienst zum Theater - zum festlichen Höhepunkt der Woche. Gottes Diener verschwindet hinter dem Altar und gleich einem Schauspieler taucht er oben zwischen den Vorhängen wieder auf. Er betritt die Bühne, wendet sich an sein Publikum und deklamiert seinen Text. Der Vergleich mit dem Theater ist gewollt im sinnenreichen Leben des Barock. Es gibt sogar Abhandlungen über den „seligen Moment, da der Pfarrer erscheinet“. Häufig war der Kanzelaltar die Plattform für unerträgliche Selbstdarstellungen der Pfarrer. Die Predigten dauerten damals anderthalb Stunden und mehr. Wer sich die abgearbeiteten Bauersfrauen, Bauern, Knechte und Mägde vorstellt, die in der Kirche für kurze Zeit zur Ruhe kamen, kann leicht begreifen, warum Kirchenschlaf bis heute als der gesündeste gilt.
