Description
English: MS. STILSON: Well, Matthew from Plantation asks, what is the most dangerous part of the mission? MR. LYONS: Well, there are really three parts or phases of a mission. There's the launch countdown and ascent, or going up into space. There are on-orbit operations. Many of those days are while we're docked to the International Space Station. And then we re-enter or come back down from space. And all those part of phases have dangers and risks associated with them. So what we do is, in the re-planning stages, we consider all those risks and dangers and we take steps to minimize them the best we can. We also train very hard with the crew and our flight control team and our launch control team so that if problems arise, we can deal with them. And then we also ensure that our systems in the orbiter are operating properly. So we control those dangers and risks by those three efforts. And we think that -- we know that we are able to, with hard planning and work, to control them to where it's safe to go fly.
