English: Next, on the NASA Space Shuttle Status Report: Space Shuttle Discovery leaves Launch Pad 39B. Plus, External Tank-121, NASA'S second re-designed External Tank, gets a new heater as it prepares to fly with Discovery. The Space Shuttle Status Report starts right now. I’m Sean Black, NASA test director at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and this is the NASA Space Shuttle Status Report. Topping NASA Shuttle news: Discovery rolls back to the VAB. On May 26, Space Shuttle Discovery rolled from Launch Pad 39B to the Vehicle Assembly Building. It's the 15th rollback in NASA history. Inside the VAB, Discovery will be removed from its External Tank and attached to the External Tank and Solid Rocket Boosters originally earmarked for Atlantis. A heater was recently installed on that tank's feedline bellows to reduce the occurrence of ice and frost buildup on the thermal protective coating. These heater modifications will be completed before Discovery attaches to the flight stack. Space Shuttle Discovery is expected to return to the launch pad in mid-June. Meanwhile, Atlantis remains inside Orbiter Processing Facility bay 1. A small crack was recently found on Orbiter Atlantis' retract link assembly on the right-hand main landing gear. The assembly was removed and replaced with a spare. The find prompted a precautionary investigation of Discovery's landing gear, and a borescope inspection took place while Discovery was still at the launch pad.
