“Oswego May 15, 1833
Friend Richard
I had hoped to see you this summer but begins to think I shall not as my business keeps me pretty much engaged. I therefore write to get the dates amts & endorsements on notes &c against my late Fathers estate. I shall have to advance if I pay them now & wish you to favor me if you think you can – though I must in justice to you say that you have indulged the estate & [said] its costs though its situation is such you could not now collect it if the acct is not too much for my credit I may be able to raise the money & pay you now. I have got data sufficient to get pretty near the amt but cannot determine sufficiently accurate. Your patience & indulgence in this matter has my thanks
