Description
English: Tomb of James Burton (1761–1837), builder and architect responsible for the founding of St. Leonards. Tomb is on cliffs centred within the development. Also commorates his wife Elizabeth, his daughters Jane Wood (1702-1870) and Eliza (1786-1877), his sons Alfred (1802 - 1877) (Alfred was buried at Fairlight)and Decimus Burton FRS 30th September 1800 - 14th December 1881 (Decimus was buried at Kensal Green.) Emily Jane Wood (1815-1892), Helen Wood (1816-1903)
