Description
English: On Saturday 17 August 2019, Atheist Republic is organising worldwide protests against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its policies against Soheil Arabi and other political prisoners. According to Atheist Republic, 'after 39 days of Soheil Arabi's hunger strike, the Islamic Regime of Iran arrested Soheil’s mother, Farangis Mazlum, and took her to an unknown location. The purpose of the Regime is to allow Soheil to die in silence through his hunger strike, and use his death as a threat to others.

On Friday, July 21st, political prisoner, Soheil Arabi suffered severe seizures and hypotension. The prison guards transferred him to Tehran's Khomeini Hospital after a severe drop in blood pressure that resulted in a heart attack. Soheil was revived with a defibrillator.

On Saturday, July 22, after treatment and injections Soheil’s condition improved, and the prison authorities moved him silently back to the prison at night so that no one would be aware of the transfer.

Soheil has lost 10 kg during his hunger strike, and his blood pressure is very low. The Islamic Regime of Iran seeks to keep Soheil under pressure, and allow him to die, like many other political prisoners, tortured to death in silence.

Soheil Arabi wants to stay on a hunger strike because he has a purpose. He wants to improve the situation of prisoners because they are suffering. Soheil wants to start a prison wide boycott against the grocery stores inside the jail, where all the prisoners refuse to spend their money at their stores.

With over 240,000 prisoners, each having 30,000 Tomans cash to spend, will have a huge impact on the economy of the prison system. The Islamic Regime is pushing prisoners to buy, but if we could boycott this, the regime is forced to see the needs of people, instead of making more prisons.

There are over 18 million judicial cases, and over 1,000 political prisoners. The barbaric Islamic Regime of Iran has always denied the existence of these political prisoners.

Sohail Arabi, in addition to physical problems caused by his hunger strike, was beaten in his groin (testes) and nose by IRGC interrogator, Moosa Moosavi, for teaching prisoners English and French. Soheil needed emergency surgery and hospitalization, but they didn't let him go.

Soheil Arabi was arrested and sentenced to death in 2013 after criticizing Islam and the prophet of Islam, on his Facebook page and Weblog. After the appeal, he was sentenced to 7.5 years imprisonment, and when it was finished, they sentenced him 3.5 years more imprisonment and after he will be exiled to a remote area of Iran.'
