[edit]DescriptionInterview with baritone Daniel Belcher at Houston Grand Opera, for 'The Italian Girl in Algiers'.webm |
English: On October 19, 2012, Examiner.com correspondent Gary Lindsay was fortunate to be able to sit down and conduct a spontaneous interview with Grammy-winning Opera Star and baritone Daniel Belcher, in the elegant Houston Grand Opera library, where Mr. Belcher gave some fascinating insights into his HGO performance as Taddeo in 'The Italian Girl in Algiers,' the characters and works of Gioachino Rossini, his training experience as a member of the HGO Studio, his early development into music and then Opera, the way he approaches his existing large repertoire and also new characters, his surprise nomination and winning of a Grammy for "L'Amour de Loin," and finally his artfully crafted life as a normal Husband and Dad in Kansas City, who takes his eight year-old daughter to Girl Scouts.
