English: 3D visualization of the ΔfliK mutant. A 3D reconstruction was generated by cryo-electron tomography of frozen hydrated bacterial culture of the ΔfliK mutant. The movie first shows the slices through the 3D reconstruction, then 3D surface rendering of major features, such as the outer membrane, the inner membrane, and the flagellar motors. In particular, the movie highlights the various lengths of the polyhooks in the same cell. |
