PORTSMOUTH, Va. – I first became interested in a career with Navy Medicine during my senior year at Pottsville Area High School in Pennsylvania. I was very interested in trying something different besides living in my small hometown in Pennsylvania and going to college. So I visited my local Navy recruiter. While going over the different options, I found out that I qualified for dental technician school located in San Diego, California.

Being from a small town, all of a sudden I had big dreams of living in California with the warm weather and very enthusiastically jumped at the chance of joining the Navy. It is a decision that I have never regretted. I served 23 years on active duty and have worked eight years as a civil service employee, for a total of 31 years.
