Description
English: In 1990, Namibia gained independence from South Africa. The South African army withdrew from the Caprivi strip. This is a short film looking at some of the issues facing the people and the region at the time.

Within the context of the end of the first and the beginning of the second United Nations' Decade of the World's Indigenous Peoples, individuals from different professional disciplines and organizations contributed to a project to manage the archival heritage generated through interaction between researchers and the San people of Southern Africa, in collaboration with representatives of the the San communities.

It consisted of a collaborative processing of the information that was extracted from the geo-cultural environment of the San people and its return to that in environment in collaboration with the people who have helped generate it.

As part of the process, members of the San communities were trained to work with audio-visual and textual material to generate information and communication materials from their perspective.

The information pieces archived in this DVD were selected by the San.
